Nativity figures are wonderful to crochet from small amounts of leftover yarn. This gives you a completely unique nativity scene that only you have. The following nativity figures are about 10 cm tall, so they’re not too small for adding details and not too big to take up much space.
In the patterns, I’ve specified exactly how much of which yarn I used for each figure. That way you can compare it with your leftover yarn as easily as possible.

As a basic set, of course, you need
the Holy Family (Mary, Joseph, Christ Child in the manger), ox, donkey, and poinsettia.
With these, you can already create an atmospheric nativity scene.

If you want to expand your nativity scene, the set with
3 shepherds, sheep, and Christmas angel
is a great choice. It includes instructions for three different shepherds and two different sheep (one lying down, one standing).

Another additional expansion is the magnificent
Three Wise Men with their pack animals (elephant, camel, horse). Here you can use glitter yarn and rhinestones as embellishments.

If you’d like to add an
angel orchestra as well, here you go! These small, chubby angels are a wonderful size to go with the nativity figures.
The best thing is to start crocheting right away and see how far you get. You don’t have to finish everything all at once; you can add a few figures to your nativity scene year after year. You’ll see, it’s a lot of fun and will sweeten your Advent season!
