Dear users, dear authors,
Shallow triangle shawls are appearing more and more often in the shop. Is this a new trend?

Personally, I’m not a big fan of flat triangular shawls. Many people don’t really like the pointed, symmetrical shawls, though, and I have a few testers who are more than happy to crochet a symmetrical shawl in a flat style later on. Flat triangular shawls are a good alternative to semicircular shawls if you’re not a fan of the semicircular shape. You can twist and turn them however you like. The flat ones have a nice width, and they drape better over your shoulders.

I like flat triangular shawls.

I like to wear my shawls wrapped around my neck, and when they’re nice and flat and wide, that’s just right for me. Yes, I could just knit a scarf, but I also like having my shoulders warm—for example, on summer evenings or in the morning when I go out to the garden to see the turtles. That way, I have a shawl that serves as both a scarf and a shoulder warmer.

Does anyone have anything to say about this?

Hi,
I’ve already crocheted two flat scarves myself, but I have to say I personally prefer deep scarves 😉
When I wear them as shoulder warmers, they keep me warm all the way down my back—almost like a vest.
And when I wear them as a neck scarf, I can really snuggle up in them.

What is a “tongue” on a flat triangular shawl?

I don’t really like flat triangular scarves because they usually leave the décolletage exposed in the front.
