Cube Cowl

finally, after months, my cowl is finished. It’s about 100 cm long, fits nicely around the neck and covers the shoulders. I don’t like it when it’s so bunched up around the neck. I cast on 80 sts and knitted 4 knit stitches on the right and left edges in every row, so it didn’t curl up, because I don’t like that. At the top and bottom I knitted 4 rows in garter stitch. The cubes are knitted alternately with 8 knit sts and 8 purl sts, the whole thing knitted with size 5 needles

Is your sewing machine feeling neglected today?

Not really, because I already stocked up on sewing machine supplies this morning. :-) I want to sew myself a backpack, so this morning I traced the pattern, cut out the pieces, trimmed the zippers to length and fitted them with sliders, cut the batting to size, picked out buckles and carabiners, etc. I’ll be sewing tomorrow; I’m not doing anything else today.

Inge, your shawl collar has a really beautiful pattern. I also really like knit and purl stitches. It’s such a nice way to relax while knitting.

I can only tell you what “RV” stands for. Zipper

As Andrea already mentioned, I use a zipper and the volume interfacing to stabilize the backpack bag so it stands up; it’s ironed on like fusible interfacing and keeps the fabric from sagging, giving it structure
