A stroll through the spring garden

I’d like to share with you the signs of nature coming to life in our garden. Everything is a little late this year, but that makes us all the more delighted by every single flower.

The little apple tree has more blossoms than ever before. They’re about to bloom.

The currants are also starting to bloom; there are even blossoms hanging from the tiniest twigs.

The jostaberry cuttings are also full of blossoms.

The groundcover plants are slowly waking up, too. The first ones are blooming now.

And let’s not forget the strawberries—the ones in pots are starting to bloom now, too.

The little nectarine tree survived the snow and is now being busily visited by bees.

And then there are the tulips and daffodils, and even the peonies, still dormant, are starting to show themselves.

Your garden already looks beautiful. Your little nectarine tree is blooming beautifully. Maybe you'll have a bountiful harvest this year.

Yes, I think everything in nature is a little later this year. The cherry tree usually blooms in mid-April, but this year it only started this week. But we gardeners are happy to enjoy the colors and the harvest a little later, too.

Oh Monika, your garden is so beautifully colorful. It really makes you feel at home.
Thank you so much for sharing.
This is what it looks like here—and it’s still too cold for this time of year

But at least things are blooming indoors

It’s so lovely to see how green and blooming everything is at your place, dear Monika!
At our place, it still looks very much like a construction site outside right now

Monika, it’s wonderful to see your garden bursting with color.
You have jostaberries—so do we. I love those fruits.
Our garden is already quite colorful, too.

Melanie, I’m so glad to hear from you again.
I’m sure your garden will be in bloom next year, too.

Yes, Petra, that’s right. We gardeners are happy about every little flower as soon as it peeks out of the ground.

Andrea, all that will happen soon at your place. That way, you can enjoy the anticipation a little longer. I think the initial magic is over all too quickly—even with the beautiful flowering trees. At least your forsythia bush is already in bloom. And you’ve brought the plants indoors—that’s a good solution, at least as a stopgap until it’s time for them to bloom outside.

Oh Mel, what a lovely surprise to hear from you again. The construction site at your place should be a thing of the past soon, and then it’ll be really beautiful. You can already look forward to that.

Marion, yes, I love all the berries in our garden, especially the Josta. I’ve propagated them in a few spots—it’s really easy to do.

Feel free to share a few pictures of blooming spots in your gardens here. That way, we can all enjoy them together.

Hi Marion and Monika!
Yes, we’re almost through the roughest part and are already living in our new house. There are still a few minor projects here, but it’ll all work out. Soon I’ll have more time again and will be more active here! Best regards, Mel

Hi Mel, are you an early riser too, like some of us here?

That’s such nice news from you. I’m so happy for you that everything worked out so well with the new house.

Warmest regards
Marion

Although the weather isn’t ideal for photography today, I still took a few pictures in our garden: the first peony and the tulips that bloomed later, an ornamental shrub similar to currants, the Boskoop apple tree, and our oldest grandson’s cherry tree.

What beautiful pictures, Christina. They really warm the heart. Thank you for sharing them with us.

Mel, I’m truly so happy for you that everything is moving forward and you’re already living in the house. That’s fantastic! You’ll probably never stop wanting to spruce things up or add the odd touch here and there. I suppose that’s perfectly normal. The best part is that you’re now living in your own home and probably know every nook and cranny. You’ve really accomplished a lot, because I know what it looked like before. And I’m so glad to have you back here—I really missed you.

Have a wonderful start to the weekend and enjoy the nature around you.
