Bosnian crochet

Can anyone tell me what this is? I've only heard of Tunisian crochet.

In Bosnian crochet, you work slip stitches only through the back loop of the previous round or row.

What is it used for?

Hamster—it just looks great, like knitting, and creates a very firm fabric. You can work the slip stitches in different ways: insert the hook into the back loop, into the front loop, through both loops from the front, or through both loops from the back.
You can see an example of Bosnian crochet in my shop. I have a crochet necklace and a bracelet made using this technique.

And it stretches. That’s why I often use it for cuffs, for example.

There really is everything
out there—but if you only do slip stitches, you don’t really get much height, do you?

Yes, with a large crochet hook. You really have to crochet very loosely. There are also special crochet hooks with a wide handle designed specifically for Bosnian crochet.
