Why does the site crash so often?

This never used to happen here... but for the past few days, the site has been "crashing" or freezing up on me more often.
Is it just me???

It’s the same for me.
Maybe they’re installing server updates, making changes to the database, or something like that. There could be several reasons. Sometimes sites get attacked and are bombarded with so many requests that the server crashes. Legitimate requests often can’t get through or are delayed significantly. But I’m hoping that’s not the case here—that it’s “just” updates. :)

It’s happened to me twice so far (the site just kept loading and loading and never loaded). I was a little surprised, too, because that really never happened before.

And I thought it was my server’s fault.......

Yeah, you're right—I’ve noticed that too over the last few days.
I thought it was my internet connection.
The server is overloaded :D
 

Dear Authors,

yesterday’s outage wasn’t due to the server. The provider’s entire network was down. I estimate that several thousand sites were offline.

Once I have more detailed information from the provider, I’ll post it here in the forum.

P.S. Previous crashes were due to overload. We’re moving again at the end of the month. The new system will be even more powerful than the current one.
