Need help

I'm crocheting Geraldine the giraffe and I'm stuck on the head.
Who can help??
I now have an oval with 22 sc, but I don't understand the pattern anymore:
1 inc., 8 sc (1 inc.) *3; 8 sc (1 inc.) *2; 28 sts.....??? All of that in one round?
I don't get it......helpppp.

Hi Veronika,
could it be that a few commas are missing? And that it should read:

1 inc., 8 sc, 1 inc. *3, 8 sc, 1 inc. *2
so just triple or double the increases, respectively.
That would match the 22 starting stitches, and you’d end up with 28 stitches.

I’m not familiar with the pattern, though, so I can’t say for sure.
To be absolutely certain, it’s best to contact the seller.
