Three Sisters

So, my three are finally finished, and I think I’ve captured their personalities pretty well

I think the three of them are very pretty, too, and they really do have different personalities. I don’t know your daughters, of course, but I’m sure they’ll recognize themselves in them.

I think this is a really great gift for your daughters. It’s a shame we can’t be there for the big reveal. I’d love to see their amazed faces when they recognize themselves in their dolls. Great project and beautiful craftsmanship!

Thanks for the compliments—I sent the picture to all three of them and asked, “Do you know who’s who?” :-) They called one after another and asked if I was trying to pull their leg; each one said she wanted one, and now they’re going on a trip as soon as I find the right boxes. My daughters aren’t young girls anymore—the oldest (red) is 51, the middle one (blonde) is 48, and the youngest (red) is 45. I already have young adults as grandchildren—ages 25, 24, and 23—plus a teenager who’s 15 and a child who’s 10 1/2. I’m waiting for my grandchildren to say they want a doll of themselves, too :-)

What a wonderful family project. I’m guessing the grandkids will have some requests of their own. A doll with someone’s own features is something truly special. But you also have to be able to capture that in your craftsmanship—and you can! It’s a shame you can’t do the handover at a family gathering. Then everyone would be together and would have to guess—that would cause great excitement, lots of laughter, and recognition. It’s such a shame that such a special gift just comes in a box.

Yeah, I really regret that, too. A good date would be May 25—that’s our wedding anniversary, and since our last milestone anniversary was canceled for reasons we all know, it would be a chance to make up for everything. But what isn’t, isn’t.
