Dahlias

Every year, we choose the most beautiful dahlia here in the park. I can’t decide for myself—I think they’re all gorgeous. Here are a few photos I took.

Wow, what a magnificent display of dahlia blooms! It would be impossible to pick just one as the most beautiful—maybe that’s part of what makes them so great, with all their variety. There’s always another even more beautiful one for the eye to discover. I especially like the pompon dahlias, so that would probably be my favorite.

Beautiful—thanks for the great photos! I really like dahlias, and every year I plan to plant some…

I bought five dahlias this year—relatively late in the summer—as potted plants. Now they’re adding particularly beautiful splashes of color to the patio.
Now I’ll have to see—once they’re done blooming, I’ll need to cut them back all the way down, clean the roots of any soil, let them dry, and then store them in the basement on sand or newspaper.
Then I’m supposed to replant them next year, and they should come back.
I can’t wait to see!!!!

Wow, Birte, that’s absolutely gorgeous! I love all varieties of dahlias, so I can’t pick a favorite either.
