Dear users, dear designers,
July is over. So it’s time for the awards ceremony.

In the link, you can read through the June projects again.

August projects and July projects, Part 2: the Crazypatterns craft group (No advertising )
Info about the final sprint / the July awards ceremony:

How do you do it?
Copy the section in the post below between the asterisks into your text field / the reply field, fill it out accordingly, or delete what doesn’t apply to you.

When will the July awards ceremony take place?
Around August 4/5/6, 2020. All participants will be entered. No one goes offline without a title.

I’m “only” a regular user here, not a designer with my own shop. Can I still join in?
All users and all designers can join in. Everyone who writes a post here in the thread is automatically included in the awards ceremony.

July title awards: Each of you will receive at least one honorary title.

If someone has overcome many everyday challenges in July 2020, this can, at the request of the respective user / designer, be recognized with a fitting honorary title / extra bonus points. If necessary, I’ll invent a fitting title.

Earn extra points / bonus points and improve your own karma: Here’s how it’s done.
- For your own uploaded photos / images, there are of course extra bonus karma points as always. Please do not upload images that aren’t yours, or images+photos that don’t belong to you, or images+photos from somewhere on the Internet. These will be deleted.

- Finished handmade items that are given as gifts to dear people or donated will of course always earn you extra karma points / bonus points, in recognition of the time / effort / energy spent on them.
--> Please provide the details for each one here in the thread.

- Feedback for the Crazypatterns designers ( e.g., in the form of reviews, comments, etc. ) is always rewarded with extra points.
--> Please write down details if applicable.

Template to copy in the post directly below.

Oh, and a big thank you to Josefa, too—I really enjoy making things by hand and then giving them away. There are always people I’d like to bring a little joy to with my creations. My oldest daughter is getting the drawstring backpack today—she’s on vacation now and wants to go on a hike or two with her family, so the backpack comes at just the right time. The bunny is going to a friend who just became a grandma, for her grandchild. And that’s how I always find people to give gifts to :-)

UFO Queen in July
- I started the blanket; it’s a UFO, and it will be a long time before it’s finished, because I still don’t know how big it will be in the end

Hardworking little helper in July
- I embroidered with the embroidery machine, embroidered cantonal coats of arms for a colleague; we sell felt slippers together. I embroider and she felts. I digitize the cantonal coats of arms myself.
- Mended pants for my husband and Junior
- Sewed various masks
Being patient and waiting
- Elevate my foot, cool it, and wait until the inflammation finally, or hopefully, heals; so far no result yet. Changed therapy and hope it will get better someday.....

No UFOs in July - thanks to the monthly thread :)
My shawl was finished in the same month after all.

I'm bravely sticking to my yarn diet, despite many temptations!
I haven't bought any yarn since December 2019 - I'm going to keep it up for at least 1 year.
The goal is Inner Slacker Tamer - at least.
By now I'm already a Half-Year Tamer.

I was also a busy little elf in July.
  • The outfit for the baby doll was finished.
  • I stuck with the shawl until it was done. That was sooo many stitches.
  • The sweater for my granddaughter for Christmas was also finished in the same month.
  • I'm giving myself points for discipline for that.
  • I made lots of fruit into jam and froze some,
  • tried out and created various new recipes
  • and baked various breads from old recipes.
Here are the photos:

The sweater for my granddaughter

Various breads

The shawl

Stay brave even during the coronavirus pandemic: become the King/Queen of Perseverance
[x ] I am and will remain brave, meet the respective requirements (
disinfecting, thorough handwashing, social distancing,
staying home, wearing masks, etc. ), do not lose courage and
hope for the best.

King/Queen of the Long-Term Project
[ x] I was able to finish my extensive long-term project.
Details about the long-term project:
This month was mainly dedicated to finishing my embroidered picture. I started it in September and was able to finish it—finally!—at the end of June. Here you can see the progress: mid-September and late July:

After washing it (after such a long time in progress, it had gotten a little soiled, and the pre-drawn little crosses were supposed to be washed out too), I then discovered more than 100 little crosses that I had skipped. But I think everything is embroidered now. Now the fabric still needs to be stretched and framed. I'm already looking forward to seeing the picture hanging in my bedroom.
Embroidery is not planned for me for quite a while now.

Disciplined Stick-With-It King/Queen: no UFOs here
[X ] I have no or hardly any UFOs, because I always consistently and
with discipline stick with my current project instead of switching between
unfinished craft projects.
Details:
The embroidered picture was not a UFO!!! I worked on it continuously, although I always had other projects (mostly crochet projects) in between. First, because the light was not always sufficient, especially in winter, and second, because I sometimes had to do something else.
Leftover Yarn Star in July: leftover yarn is great
[x ] In July I used up a lot of leftover yarn and thereby honestly earned the title Leftover Yarn Star.
Details about the leftover-yarn projects:
The birthday numbers are crocheted entirely from leftover yarn. (More details below).

Shopping Queen / King in July
This title is for everyone who likes buying yarn. Photos would be great.
[x ] In July I only bought urgently needed yarn / urgently needed
material / fabric, e.g., to finish a current July project.
Details:
For the cuddly cat Mauzi I bought more chenille yarn. I also needed a matching fabric for the skydiver costume for my grandson's teddy (see further below)

[ x] I bought a new yarn cake / gradient yarn / effect yarn / gorgeous yarn.
Details:
Contrary to my usual habit, I bought the gradient yarn for my shawl "Autumn Leaf" because I liked the colors so much before I knew what it should become.

Busy Little Helper in July
[x ] In July I was able to get done / finish / complete many craft projects.
Details:
My grandson wanted a skydiver outfit for his teddy. Of course that had to be squeezed in between other things. Here he is wearing it very proudly:

And the best part was that my grandson has almost the same outfit:

Forum King/Queen in July

[x ] In July I either uploaded a new pattern on always-current
evergreen topics such as colorful leftover yarn / inexpensive yarn scraps /

As an addendum, here are the photos of the July projects. For the men’s socks, I tried my hand at the tomato heel again.

By the way, I think it’s really great that Akela is listed here. With all the wonderful things here, it’s more than deserved.

Stay brave even during the coronavirus pandemic: become the Staying-Strong King/Queen

[ x ] I am and will remain brave, meet the respective requirements (disinfecting, thorough handwashing, staying socially distanced, staying home, wearing masks, etc.), don’t lose courage, and hope for the best.
Although all of this has become quite difficult for me by now for family reasons, I am of course still following the rules... no one can rule out being infected and then unknowingly passing it on.

Yarn Diet 2020 / Yarn Emperor/Empress / Inner-Pig-Dog Conqueror in July 2020

[ x ] I did not buy any yarn in July and therefore am deservedly Yarn Emperor/Empress of the month of July.

Busy little brownie in July

[ x ] I was able to finish a few handmade projects in July.

I crocheted a pretty large soccer mascot. Surprisingly, I even enjoyed it, although I’m actually rather annoyed by the extreme fans around here... but this was a birthday wish from a very dear acquaintance who is really missing stadium life right now. But I’d rather not post any pictures of it.

I also crocheted a new little bag to go with jeans and revised an old pattern of mine in the process. - the picture of it is further down.

[ x ] I was also very busy offline / in normal everyday life in July.

I baked a lot, made ice cream, and otherwise spent a lot of time in the kitchen.
So I preferred to avoid my scale...

I also set up 2 more compartments in my maxi display case.

Summer happiness - the lower compartment

Heart to heart

And for my crocheted cosmetic pads, I made myself a storage container - from 2 empty peanut cans with lids, which I glued together at the bottoms and covered with modeling clay. One side is for the clean pads, the other for the used ones.

I also looked after my sister after an accident in various hospitals and care facilities, as well as is possible in coronavirus times... keeping her spirits up, doing laundry, getting new nightgowns and taxi transport vouchers, and taking care of all the stuff that comes up.

Right now I can’t visit her at the current hospital at all; only her son has permission to visit. Coronavirus is annoying...

Pattern Optimization Champion and Hero/Heroine of the Authors = author title in July

[ x ] In July, I uploaded a new pattern on evergreen topics that are always current, such as scrap yarn, mini projects for on the go or in between, animals / cute amigurumi.

I newly listed the crochet pattern for King Engelbärt.  The link to the pattern:

https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/63671/teddybaer-king-engelbaert-haekelanleitung

[ x ] In July, I revised and improved the product images of my patterns / my product texts / my shop.

I crocheted the Christel handbag anew and completely revised the pattern in the process.  The link to the crochet pattern:

https://www.crazypatterns.net/de/items/17688/handtasche-christel-haekelanleitung

I also revised the pattern for the cactus toilet paper roll cover.  The link to the crochet pattern:

Garden season

[ x ] I made use of sunny moments and had lots of fun on the balcony, etc.

We went for lots of walks, sat on the balcony for a long time, and simply enjoyed ourselves.

By the way, the picture is a blooming spring onion on our balcony.

My list is extremely short this month.

[ ] In July, I used up old or difficult yarn
and am an honorable Yarn Rescuer

In August 2017, I bought this yarn cake and must have started knitting it and frogged it again at least 4 times. Now it has found its purpose.

Thank you so much, Josefa! As always, very nicely and creatively worded. Now all I need is a crown. ;-)

I’m curious myself to see what August has in store.

Thanks, Josefa.

You’ve written the awards ceremony wonderfully once again. I’m also curious to see what I can accomplish in August.

Thank you, Josefa, for all the “Queen” titles! I’m so grateful for all my crafting friends here on the forum—I really miss having them around where I live. And I’m usually missing from the knitting group because it takes place on my childcare day. It’s sooo much nicer together than alone!

Yes, Christina, you’ve taken the words right out of my mouth. I feel exactly the same way. It’s sooo much more fun together. And what makes me especially happy is that I don’t have any UFOs left.

I wonder if I’ll ever manage to finish those UFOs? Actually, I’d like to get them out of the craft basket—or wherever they’re hiding—as soon as possible, but there are usually more urgent projects…

It’s too hot for me to knit.
How about you guys? My hands get sweaty really fast, so I can’t knit like this.
