I’m taking a one-on-one class on Wednesday to learn how to sew with an overlock machine. Then I’ll decide whether to buy one. ... And then I’ll sew something like this for myself, too... I hope.

Yeah, Schnuckelina, I haven’t been to a boutique or a clothing store to shop for myself in at least 30 years, and by now it would totally overwhelm me to buy ready-to-wear clothes for myself. Especially since I’d have to alter every piece I buy anyway to adapt it to my uneven shape, because I’m about 4 cm shorter on the right than on the left. That way I make my patterns to fit exactly and then sew whatever I like, and afterward it fits too.
@ursulapetra, an overlocker is a great sewing machine. I have a regular overlocker and a coverstitch machine, alongside my sewing machine, and I wouldn’t want to be without either of them.
