Decreases for the sleeve cap

Hi

I’ve started knitting a sweater and can’t get the decreases right. I’m a bit stuck. My problem is when the pattern says... In every 2nd row, bind off 6 sts a total of 2 times. Then in the following 2nd row, bind off 6 sts once. At the same time, decrease 1 st in the middle? Where is the middle! 
And in the following 2nd row, bind off 7 sts in pattern as follows: 3 sts in pattern, knit 2 sts together in pattern, 2 sts in pattern. Bind off the remaining 10 sts as follows: 4 sts in pattern, knit 2 sts together in pattern, 4 sts in pattern. 
I started with the sleeve. Stitches on the needle = 72 sts.
If anyone could help me, that would be great

Hi, I’d say the center is stitches 36 and 37. I’d knit those two together. But maybe you can also determine the center based on the pattern to see which stitches should be knit together. 

I’ve always done it this way: bind off 6 stitches on one side, finish the row. Turn
Then bind off 6 stitches, finish the row, turn. = 2 rows

Repeat this 3 times total, so there are 18 stitches on each side. That leaves 35 stitches total.

I haven’t knitted a sleeve cap in a long time. But with this pattern, I would knit both sleeves at the same time to make sure they’re definitely the same.

Maybe you could write to the designer; she’s the best person to tell you how to proceed.
