Let’s enjoy spring together and bring joy to all those who don’t have a garden or balcony.
I’ve already gone on a little discovery tour today and spent some time in the garden. Here are the first signs of spring in bloom:

Wow, Mel, you really know your way around all these plants. That’s great!

Yesterday I brought in the fully blooming daffodils and have been enjoying them ever since. Otherwise, they would have frozen. A few days ago, it still looked like this outside.

Thanks, Petra and Monika, for the Bavarian spring awakening 😊
Monika, I picked out and planted all these plants myself, so of course I know what they’re called 😂
Nothing gets into my garden without a name, and any sneaky intruders get Googled and named

Great, Mel. Now I know who to ask if I discover any unknown garden inhabitants. ;-)
Spring is supposed to return next week with warmer weather. I’m already looking forward to it. Luckily, we have a garden.

I’ve already spent a few hours working in the garden. But there’s still plenty to do… and I’m looking forward to it. With everything going on right now, it really is a luxury to have a garden. 9

The first bergenias are already blooming here. The pansies are also starting to show, and the tulips won’t be far behind. And the primroses are really enjoying the weather, too.

Our mirabelle plum tree in full bloom. Hopefully the frosty nights won’t harm it!

Petra: Beautiful pictures! What are “Bauernbübchen”?

The rhubarb is already growing, too. I’m already looking forward to the cake today.

Oh wow, it looks great at your place. I’m impressed.
It really makes me jealous.

Unfortunately, it’s still very bare here... But the outdoor area is brand new—we only put it in last year :) (I advise everyone NOT to plant hedges while pregnant. It’s incredibly exhausting :D)

So far, here’s how it looks at our place:

First picture: view behind the house
Second picture: view toward the street.

We haven’t even finished putting the table together yet :D (but it’s way too windy right now anyway)

I’d like to plant some flowers or something similar right around the patio...
And maybe something in the front area too... (though we might also leave that space for a swing or something like that.)

Does anyone have any ideas about what might work there? :)

... By the way, behind the house (you can’t see it in the picture :)) I’d like to plant tomatoes and potatoes. But the man of the house is against it.
Too bad he’s working from home now... That means I can’t do it on the sly :D

Tina: You really have a lot of space. Wonderful.

Last year, I planted some sprouting potatoes just to try it out. It worked out great. Maybe you could use the fact that homegrown potatoes are much better and healthier for Leo than store-bought ones as an argument for your husband :-)))))

Yesterday, I had a great idea to keep Anton busy :-)

We cleaned the fence.

Oh, how lovely—everything is blooming so beautifully over there. Thank you so much for these wonderful glimpses of spring in bloom; even if it’s just online, I can practically smell spring in the air.
The forsythia hasn’t even come out here yet, and the wind is freezing cold—it’s enough to make your ears fall off.

Wow, you all have such beautiful gardens and flowers… I’m amazed!

It’s been as cold as minus 5 degrees here for days, so nothing’s blooming anymore. But I saved the daffodils, and now they’re in a vase, bringing me joy. So beautiful! I also brought my neighbor a bouquet just as big. It’ll get warmer here again by the weekend, and then things will surely start sprouting here too.

Your photos are such a treat right now... It’s still pretty chilly here, but the sky has been unbelievably blue for days. The fresh green of the willows really stands out against it...

Yesterday I moved my turtles from their winter quarters into the greenhouse. They’re still sleeping, but soon the enclosure will look like this.

The photo is from last year.
