Is felt suitable for summer too?

Can you use felt in summer too, or not really?

....I don't care...I have so much fun crocheting felt rugs, and I'm not going to give it up in the summer either...unless it's over 30 degrees, maybe....

I don’t see any reason why not! I wouldn’t necessarily wear felt slippers right now, but since it’s pure new wool, it helps regulate body temperature. Bags or beautiful, colorful rugs aren’t worn close to the body, and they’re sure to brighten your day even in the summer.

So far I’ve only felted one drey, but I still have quite a bit of yarn in my stash. So I’ll definitely keep crocheting and then felting at the next opportunity. And on cold stone tiles, you can always wear slippers.

I work with felt in both summer and winter—I embroider it or sew little baskets out of it, depending on what I like or what I need at the moment.

I also wear felt shoes in the summer—except when it’s 30 degrees—usually in ballerina or moccasin styles. I find them comfortable on our tile floors. Felt is breathable; you don’t sweat in them, and excess heat is released through the fibers. Plus, the thick felt makes for a nice, soft feel underfoot. For me, felt shoes are a year-round staple.

Felt bags work just fine in the summer… And if they’re not too full, they also make great cushions to sit on.....

That's right! Felt seat cushions are perfect for keeping your bottom from getting cold. We've even used the seat pad as a mat when rolling dice.
