Invoice from Crazypattern

Hi everyone,
I’m a complete newbie here and would like to start selling my knitting patterns here in January. I’ve read that I don’t have to write invoices or anything like that, and that everything will be prepared for the tax office and my tax advisor. What about the invoices that customers receive? Is VAT shown on them or not? Since I’m a small business owner (with revenue under 17,500 euros in my first year), I don’t have to charge VAT, so it doesn’t need to appear on the invoice. How does Crazypattern handle this? Does anyone know?

Dear Ela,

unfortunately, the small business exemption no longer matters when it comes to patterns ;( ... That’s why I gave up my small business status and am no longer a small business owner.

The reason:

Since January 1, 2015, when selling digital content (patterns), the seller is REQUIRED to pay tax in the country where the pattern was purchased.
I’m from Austria, and if someone from Germany buys a pattern from me, I have to pay the 19% tax to Germany.

You can then regularly check these payments in your CP account statements to see where and how much you need to pay.

There were already a few forum posts about this here at the beginning of the year; it’s best to enter “MOSS” in the search function, then you’ll find some interesting posts.

How do the others who sell patterns here handle this? I’ve also read that you can transfer the tax handling to Crazypattern. Can anyone tell me more about that? Everyone here sells their own self-written patterns, right? Please help
