An unsolvable problem, or can you help me?

Hi,

my daughters have me stumped with an unsolvable problem.

They want me to crochet them a one-piece snowman pajama set.

But how???? And what kind of yarn should I use so it turns out nice and cozy?

I told them it won’t be ready until next year at the earliest. But those two never forget anything......

Heike, that’s really a great challenge. It’ll definitely look super cute when it’s finished.

For pajamas, I’d definitely go with natural yarn. There are surely some cozy cotton options out there, maybe a cotton-wool blend.

I’d crochet it just like those baby onesies, only bigger. Buttoned all the way down the front. 

What size should the pajamas be?

If you use cotton chenille yarn, it’s natural and fluffy. 

The older one wears XS and the younger one wears 152.

So far, I’ve only ever crocheted from patterns.
I’ll have to come up with something.

How about this?

Make a paper pattern and then crochet along it. The pajamas will probably need to be a bit roomier. I’d just use a pair of pants and a sweater and factor in some seam allowance, or use another set of pajamas as a pattern.

Maybe there are paper patterns for a onesie here, too?
