Snake ELSA

Hi,
can anyone help me? I’m stuck.
I’m crocheting the ELSA snake right now. I’ve reached round 18 with 60 stitches.
According to the pattern, I now have to
(9 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) *6, 18 sc, (1 sc, 1 inc) *6, 9 sc (72 sts)

If I crochet 9 sc and then increase once on the 10th stitch, and repeat that 6 times, that’s still okay.
But then 18 sc plus the increase—that means I’m crocheting more than one round.
I’m totally stumped.

I think if you contact the pattern creator directly, she can explain it to you in detail.
That would be the easiest way.

I’m assuming "1 inc" means working 2 sc into one stitch; in that case, you need to crochet the round as follows:

9 sc,

(1 sc, 2 sc in one stitch) — repeat the stitches in parentheses 6 times — at this point, you now have 27 stitches

18 sc

(1 sc, 2 sc in one stitch) — repeat the stitches in parentheses 6 times — now there are 63 stitches

9 sc
for a total of 72 single crochets
