Hi, the costume is really adorable. What do you think—how do you make something like that? Do you mean that great “lion’s mane”? To me, it looks like someone cut beautiful, thick plush fabric (or faux fur) into long, evenly thin strips, cut them in half, and sewed on the ends.
I wish you the best of luck making it yourself,
Monika
Yeah, I was wondering about making the lion’s mane and everything else, too.
I can sew on buttons and do small mends, but that’s about it. But I just love looking at pretty things and would love to know how to make them. That way, once I have more practice, I’ll be able to make them myself.
You’re a pro, right?
I seem to remember that you’ve posted a few patterns for sale. I just checked your profile.
I think the pattern for the bag is great—I spotted it last week.
The blankets are cute—are they actually suitable for summer (for temperatures like we’re having right now), or are they too thick for that?
Have fun crafting and painting :)
Is there anywhere I can actually see your pictures?
I’m going to start my own thread for patchwork/quilting.
I have a few questions about that.
It would be nice if we could continue the discussion over there.
Best regards for now, and I hope your day is filled with plenty of good seconds, minutes, and hours :)

for the “body,” it’s essential to buy a coverall pattern; you could then experiment with the headpiece yourself.
Regarding the patchwork blanket: if the backing is also made of cotton fabric and the filling is made of thinner fleece, then you can easily use it in the summer as well. If you use fleece for the backing, the blanket isn’t really suitable for summer.
Thanks for your interest in my photos—you can see them all at www.monikapucher.at.
Hi Monika
I don’t know much about art, but your pieces strike me as "well-rounded" and cohesive.
Some of what you make reminds me of August Rodin’s sculptures.
I think it’s great that you exhibit your work. It would be a shame if no one—or only a few people—got to see it.
As for the jumpsuit
I’m curious and would love to try out lots of things, but my actual skills in that area lag far behind what I’d like to do. :)
Good tip about the fleece in the filling or on the back. I’ll keep that in mind.
Thanks :)
Wishing you some lovely days. It’s still hot here, and I hope it cools down soon.
That costume is so cute!
Too bad my kids are already so big and wouldn’t fit in it anymore. Otherwise, I would have sewn it in a heartbeat—
with plush fabric, no less :)
