Woolly Wednesday: Who bought some gorgeous yarn?

Dear users, dear authors,
Who has (not) bought any yarn?

No one bought any wool?

Too hot...

I’m still avoiding joining the “yarn diets” (I just can’t stick to them :)). So, without a shred of guilt, I bought some new yarn for Christmas gifts and ordered a very specific color for Winnie the Pooh from my yarn seller. And she said that yarn sales are going well for her right now because, in this heat, some people prefer to sit indoors or outside in the shade and do some needlework :)

I actually wanted to go on a little “yarn diet,” but as is always the case, sticking to it is another story.
Since there’s a limited selection of beautiful yarns here, I ended up finding a gorgeous yarn cake (at the Hobbii Shop). I ordered one first to test how it feels and check the yarn thickness. I’m thrilled.
I ordered two more skeins (they’re on sale right now). That’ll be enough for now. Since I want to crochet a shawl, I’m not sure yet how much I’ll need or how big I want it to be. A woman likes to be prepared, after all.

Still, I really need to work through my stash.

I’m still working through my leftovers; right now, when time allows, I’m crocheting a mystery project (so I don’t know what it’ll turn out to be) using leftover cotton yarn. Slowly but surely, my stash is shrinking.
At some point I’ll buy some new yarn, but for now it’s all about using up the leftovers....

I definitely want to stick with this for a year, which means at least until November. There’s still quite a bit to work through. But things are looking good. The “diet” is already paying off. One drawer is now empty. However, there are still a few others that are full.

After these 3 yarn cakes, I’ll start my yarn diet. I already held back quite a bit when buying them.

We have another 2 weeks of vacation in August, so I can crochet some of it "away."
