The Cutie Hippos

These mini hippos are only 7 cm tall and super cute!
To crochet them, you’ll need about 20g of cotton yarn per animal—so they’re perfect for using up even the tiniest amounts of leftover yarn! Crochet them in your favorite colors and use them as: flower picks, decorative elements for door wreaths, bag charms, gift tags, office decorations.....
The crochet pattern is written specifically for experienced beginners, and all steps are explained in detail and illustrated.

With a small leftover bit of solid-colored cotton, a few beads, and a purse clip frame, you can crochet this charming little beaded pouch. It can be used as a coin purse in an evening bag, for storing jewelry while traveling, or given as a case for a rosary for First Communion. The pattern is very simple and is explained in the pattern with a crochet chart, as well as written out.
You can download the pattern right here!

This mini doll sleeping bag is perfect for using up leftover yarn. It fits dolls and stuffed animals up to 20 cm tall, so they can come to bed with their very own sleeping bag. The pattern includes two different versions—one with buttons and one with a drawstring. Both are knitted in different stitch patterns.

Very easy to follow, even for beginners with some knitting experience.

Mowi's Scrap Gobbler Gang is ideal for all kinds of leftover yarn. Even spare buttons can be used up here too. The Scrap Gobblers are a hit at children's birthday parties—with small gifts inside. They're also a real hit at parties.

For storing lots of small scraps and little things, they’ll bring joy for a long time, even as a pencil holder.

Very easy to crochet, even for beginners with some crochet experience.

Do you have any leftover cotton yarn?

Dishcloths and pot holders always make a nice gift.

The crochet pattern is described in detail, row by row, so the pattern is no problem even for less experienced crocheters. You’ll need to know single crochet, chain stitches, double crochet, and half double crochet.

You can find the crochet pattern here

Crochet pattern for a balloon cover

This is also a great way to use your leftover yarn. The ball is crocheted from individual grannies, which are sewn together at the end. A closable opening is left for changing the balloon.

Basic knowledge of single crochet, chain stitches, slip stitches, and double crochet should be present.

You can find the pattern here

The Tamburin Shawl is perfect for leftover yarn.
The leftovers, approx. 12 x 10g, are framed by 100g in a solid color. But you can easily change that by knitting in more leftovers. The pattern can be knitted continuously; you don’t have to pay special attention to rows.

The two patterns are explained in detail and also shown with a chart.

When working with gradient yarn cakes, there’s often a little left over. If you still have about 80 g from a 1000 m / 250 g yarn cake left, this is exactly the right pattern for it.

Just in time for the start of school, there is now a crochet pattern for a small school cone. It is large enough to wrap small gifts, candy, or money for the little first-graders.

   Here’s the pattern

Crocheted with a size 3 crochet hook, the school cone measures 25 cm in total—the fillable cone is about 15 cm high and has a diameter of 12 cm. You can also use other leftover yarn —see the pattern description for more detailed information.

And now have fun crocheting!

Everyone who does handcrafts probably has leftover yarn. It sits there waiting until you finally come up with something to make with it. Today I have a few suggestions for what I do with my leftover yarn. Maybe there will be something for you. For each project, there are more photos to look at, additional information to read, and of course the pattern itself when you click on the headings.

I hope you enjoy the leftover yarn project of your choice.
Warm regards from Ina

Perfect for using up leftovers: keychain or bag charm with angel wings

But even without a key ring, hung as decoration in a window or above a child's bed, these beautiful charms are always an eye-catcher.
You will receive a detailed PDF pattern with text and numerous step-by-step photos, making it easy for beginners too.
The wings are very quick to crochet and look beautiful from both sides (the back looks almost like stockinette stitch).

Here is the pattern
