During the season of love, let’s think of those who aren’t so well-off
Dear readers, dear authors,
not everyone can afford to spend a lot of money on Christmas gifts—especially electronics like cell phones, smartphones, or tablets.
So if you need to or want to save money, you might be able to win people over with wonderful homemade items and bring them a lot of joy through the gift’s personal touch and the time you’ve lovingly invested in it.

This thread is a place for affordable patterns and free patterns that fit the theme of Christmas and Advent. During the season of love, we all enjoy sharing with others.

Thank you to everyone here on CP who offers their patterns for free or at a low cost.

The limit of two patterns per contributor does not apply here—feel free to share as many as you want and have.

Treat yourself and give yourself a gift.
25 crochet patterns are waiting for you.

There are patterns included on the topics of amigurumi, clothing, and decor—for the whole year.
Many patterns have not been published yet and are therefore brand new. We won’t reveal exactly what they are yet, because, as with any gift, it’s supposed to be a surprise. The plan was for 23 small crochet patterns and 2 large crochet patterns, so this news should make you even happier:

With the Advent calendar you get:

8 small patterns
9 medium patterns 8 large patterns included are: 5 purely Christmas patterns, and the rest are crochet patterns that will bring you joy all year round, with something for every season. You can look forward to decorative items, amigurumis, small gift ideas, lucky charms, and crochet clothing. A lovely mix. This means the value of your calendar has increased, and starting on 12/1 you’ll receive patterns worth close to €100.

Currently at a discounted price. Click here

You can always use crocheted flowers. They’re incredibly versatile. As appliqués for towels, clothing… as table decorations, table scatter… there are many ways to use them.
You can use leftover yarn. You may also need beads and a 3.0 mm crochet hook.

You’ll need leftover cotton yarn and a 2.0 mm crochet hook.

This is a super cute idea for a gift for a child or grandchild at Christmas.
Stuffed animals—especially ones you’ve made yourself—are always a hit.

And the best part is that the pattern costs nothing.
All you need is a little time and a looooot of love to crochet this little dragon.

Keychains or bag charms are ALWAYS a great gift idea.
I’ve had so many lovely charms on my house keys or car keys....

What I like is that you can find your keys much faster in your bag, at least that’s how it is for me.

Both charms are not too small, but not too big either. And the patterns are affordable too. The keychains/bag charms are quite quick to make. So they’re perfect even for very last-minute gifts.

Here's something for the geeks and nerds:

ANDROID

The Droid is free. :)
The pattern is set up like my others: very detailed and therefore also perfectly suitable for beginners.
You can crochet the Droid in two versions: with original, rounded leg ends (cannot stand on its own), or with flat leg ends (can stand on its own).
That way you can make the Android fans in your life (or yourself) very happy.

Tip: Also perfectly suitable as a keychain.

Here’s the free pattern:

PURPLE TENTACLE & GREEN TENTACLE

So, who still remembers these two?
These are Purple Tentacle and Green Tentacle, from one of the best adventure games of all time: "Day of the Tentacle"

The two are super quick to crochet. If you know someone who loves this classic game, you can make him or her really happy with these. Of course, you can also treat yourself. After all, taking over the world also requires a good dose of selfishness. ;D

Here’s the pattern:

I wish you lots of fun making them! :)

I also have two patterns for you that I’m happy to provide for free. I’d be delighted if they make one or two people happy at Christmas.

The first pattern is for children: two little tartlets for the play store or play kitchen. The little bakers can really have fun with them. You can find the pattern here: [please click]

The second pattern is a pattern that, for once, doesn’t use yarn and is aimed more at crafters. It’s a door sign made of wire and wood that you can make with your own desired text or motif. Also a very lovely gift and nice décor. You can find the pattern here: [please click]

A crocheted scarf like this makes a perfect Christmas gift and is also suitable for men and children. A very simple crochet pattern for a scarf, collar, neck warmer, neckerchief, turtleneck, or loop scarf for beginners by oksik. It’s crocheted in one piece using only single crochet stitches, with no complicated decreases or increases required anywhere. The finished neck warmer has a simple geometric shape, but thanks to the unique ribbed pattern, this crocheted piece still holds its shape beautifully and the collar fits nicely.

Sam - the faithful companion

Quick to knit and absolutely suitable for beginners—that’s my new design, the loop scarf "Sam".
The loop scarf can be knitted in many different, completely individual variations and will keep you warm on cold fall and winter days.
A true faithful companion indeed.
Also very well suited as a Christmas gift. ;-)

For the affordable price, you get a 5-page pattern that includes many suggestions for knitting the loop scarf.

If you’re still looking for an affordable Christmas gift for your children or grandchildren, I don’t want to keep my latest creation from you. I knitted this firefighter for my grandson’s birthday, and he was a huge hit!

Here I have 12 little animals that not only bring joy as an Advent calendar, but also make pretty gift packaging.
Simply crochet a little animal and give it as a gift, e.g. with a voucher,
whether for a trip to the movies, a special meal, or a lovely evening,
Among the variety of animals, there is sure to be a fitting gift idea for everyone!
There is also room in the belly for a small gift!
If you leave off the hat, you can give the little animals as gifts all year round!

There is also an additional turkey,
which, with a chef’s hat and wooden spoon, is happy to deliver a meal voucher

you can find all these patterns in my shop

I wish everyone a merry, stress-free Christmas season

How about a bookmark?
These two cute mini amigurumi bookmarks are quick to crochet. As always, the pattern is beginner-friendly and illustrated.
It takes about 30–60 minutes to make one bookmark.
