Quilting / Patchwork

Who among you likes quilts / patchwork? Who has experience with it?
Let me know.

Oh, patchwork is such a delight—especially English paper piecing. At the beginning of the year, I gave away about half of my 25 or so quilts to my family. :-) This African quilt was my first creation, and I’m not giving it away—it’s still my pride and joy today.

Here are my English paper pieced quilts; they’ve all found new homes. These quilts are made entirely by hand.

What does “geliselt” mean?

With the Lieseln method, you use a hexagon, diamond, or pentagon template, which is covered with fabric. The fabric is first clipped in place and then basted, and then these covered pieces are sewn together by hand. Once the piece is finished—or has reached the desired size—the paper templates are removed, and you can attach it by hand to a backing fabric and then sew a quilt from it. Try searching for “Lieseln” on Google; you’ll find plenty of inspiration and tutorials there.
