Help with a knitting pattern

Hello, I would still describe myself as a beginner, but I’ve already knitted a few things like a scarf, hat, hooded scarf, etc. Now I wanted to venture one step further and knit a summer top using this pattern:

Now I don’t have anyone who can explain it to me, and I’d be grateful if you could answer a few questions for me.

So it says: cast on x stitches and knit the 1st wrong side row, then continue in the basic pattern. The instructions for the basic pattern: Rows 1–13: knit all stitches in stockinette stitch.
Question: Does that now mean 1: that I knit the 1st row, then purl the next one, or should I also knit the next one? 2: Does that make a total of 13 rows or 14 rows for the first part? In other words, is the first wrong side row added to the 13 rows of the basic pattern or not?

Question 2: In row 15 it says: edge st... Does that mean I don’t knit any edge stitches before that? And what exactly does this edge stitch look like?

Question 3: Under the section “Finishing” it says: close the side seams. What technique do I use for that?

I don’t quite understand the schematic either. Those are probably cm? After 49 cm you bind off; why isn’t this number in the schematic? The shoulder seams are closed 9 or 10 cm wide; I don’t see those numbers there either. To what extent do the markings tell me how I have to close the seams?
