I already knew that you can crochet or knit raglan sleeves from the top or the bottom. Can the raglan technique actually be used in sewing as well?

Since, as far as I know, "raglan" refers to the armhole, you can sew that too.

Of course, you can sew raglan sleeves, too. It’s actually a very simple way to create a sleeve opening without having to sew curves. I especially love sewing raglan sleeves on jersey T-shirts.

I thought raglan was only relevant for crocheting or knitting.
