HELP!!!

Hi everyone.

I’m trying to crochet Maya the Bee using an English pattern. For the feet, I have the following pattern:

Start with 12 ch (i.e., 12 chain stitches)

Round 1: sc12; 3 sc in one sc; continue working around the chain; sc 9; inc (24)

I must have made a mistake somewhere in this round. To me, it means: 12 single crochets; 3 single crochets in one stitch; (continue working around the chain); 9 single crochets; increase one stitch. But that wouldn’t give me 24 stitches—it would give me 26. I’m also having trouble with the stitches to work into. If I have 12 chain stitches, then I should be able to work into 24 stitches (from the back and from the front). But according to the pattern above, I’d only be working into 23 stitches, right??? Can you please explain my mistake to me? Thank you very much, and have a nice evening, everyone.

Bieny

Hi

Basically, you're supposed to crochet it like a sole. That's how I would crochet it, but then it doesn't match the instructions!

12 ch + 1 turning chain
1 sc in each of the first 11 ch, then 3 sc in the 12th ch

Continue crocheting on the underside of the chain

Then there are also 11 sc on the underside, and 3 sc again in the last stitch

But according to the pattern above, you're only supposed to crochet 9 sc on the underside, which gives you 24 sc ... but I can't tell you why it's supposed to be that way. Maybe it has something to do with the shape that gives you.

According to the instructions:
12 sc, then 3 sc in the next one — which would already be the underside — and then another 9 sc = 24

So the very best thing would be to contact the designer directly, or see whether you can tell from the photos in the pattern if a specific shape is intended.

So this is how I see it:
you crochet 12 ch
since the 1st ch is omitted as the turning chain, you actually only have 11 ch in the row
that gives you 11 single crochets,
then, as myDIYkreativ already described, you continue on the underside of the chain,
the 1st ch on the underside would then be the 12th single crochet.
into the 2nd ch on the underside - 3 single crochets
then 9 more single crochets and you're back at the beginning,

that's how I understand it

hope I could help
