Dear users, dear authors,
Are you happy with January?
Are you doing well? What are you up to?
What’s for lunch?
How’s the weather?
Do you have any weekly plans or craft goals?
Tell me all about it. :-)
Today I’m having Jägerschnitzel, pasta, and salad. I also did my laundry today and sewed a few little keychains. I’m going to cast on my second sock tonight and start knitting—this time they’re plain stockinette, so pretty simple. I also baked a loaf of bread today; I only had the heel of the last loaf left.
To be honest, the snow might be pretty to look at, but I’m really sick of it by now. To make matters worse, our underground parking garage is currently being renovated, so we all have to park outside. Because of the huge piles of snow, there’s nowhere to find a parking spot. And if you do park farther away, it’s so slippery that I’m afraid I’ll break something—especially since I use a cane due to a walking disability. So I’m really longing for spring!
My health is gradually improving, and I’m thinking about going back to work on Thursday. That said, I really miss my dog—that’s probably going to take a while. But my son and I have decided to give another poor dog a home with us—possibly one from Romania, from a kill shelter or an animal shelter—and we’re looking into it. That doesn’t mean our Balu will be forgotten, though.
As for my craft projects, I’m working on a summer skirt, a lace scarf, and a train—I still need to get started on the train, and I have to get some new yarn for the summer skirt.
Yesterday it was really gloomy and dreary here—the kind of weather that makes you want to stay indoors—but today the sun is shining, and even though it’s cold, it’s absolutely lovely for a winter walk.
I just went grocery shopping—I’m going to make fish sticks from scratch for the first time tonight. I’m curious to see if they turn out and if Anton likes them. For lunch today (and to freeze), I cooked a big pot of lentil stew. I’m curious to see if Anton likes that, too. I’ll probably get to my crafts tonight, since household chores are calling right now.
Sofi: I think it’s a great idea that you want to give another dog a new home.
Today we’re having bratwurst with kohlrabi and potatoes for lunch. It’s dreary, wet, and cold here, which is really bringing my mood down. Tomorrow I’ll continue decluttering my house, then I’ll go with my mood and hang out in the basement.
Today I had a new idea that could definitely turn into a pattern. We’ll see if it turns out the way I think it will… I’m taking a break from the coat today since I need a little more color to lift my spirits :)
