Cheap wool sometimes isn't very good

Well, cheap yarn is totally fine for practicing. But not all yarn is created equal. You might not really know beforehand what the yarn from the bargain store is actually like. And with yarn bought online, you can’t just feel it or crochet a test swatch beforehand. I find some good-quality yarn really expensive, but that probably also depends on how much someone crochets, how important the hobby is to them, and, of course, what the end result is supposed to be. I guess everyone has their own preferences, wishes, and needs. You could probably discuss it for hours. Maybe that’s also why this discussion is relatively quiet, because you could say just about anything about it—or nothing at all. Or rather, it was really only about the thread and how to find it again.

I could really use some cheap yarn, too. Does anyone have any good sources?
