There is one design chart included in this pattern PDF with the grid squares marked with an X, it can be enlarged for easier viewing. You can also download the Excel chart for use on your Excel program or Google Sheets. You can follow the grid chart and/or written instructions or use both.

This pattern uses the Overlay Mosaic Crochet technique, it is not hard to learn if you have never done it before, I would suggest watching a few videos to practice with till you get the hang of it.
There are charts provided in the pdf that are marked where the design is and using the letters that indicate which stitch is used. It is a grid chart where each square is one stitch.
I would say this is a intermediate experience.

The finished Blanket size is approximately 68"x60", it will cover the top of a queen bed nicely. It is heavy and warm when finished.
