The Overlay Mosaic Crochet is using classic simple crochet stitches like single crochet or double crochet (US terms)
This pattern has easy to follow instructions on how to do the stitches, but if you are not familiar with overlay mosaic crochet, I would suggest watching a video tuturial on it. It really is a simple crochet technique and fun to do and once you try it you will find yourself getting the rows done quickly.
There is a chart on the PDF Pattern along with row by row written instructions, and if you would rather you can also use the Excel sheet chart provided too.
