Crochet Dress, Button-down Dress, easy crochet pattern

I wanted to make this dress for so long and when I had the time to make it I could not find the yarn I wanted to use. I came to Belmopan, Belize in July 2022 and found the perfect yarn.

This is a seasonal dress and loose fitting. It would look great over a jumpsuit or any colour turtleneck and leggings and a super trendy black thigh high boots. In the summer you can wear over a swimsuit or a tank t-shirt dress. You can also wear a slip underneath as shown in my pictures.

It’s such a beginner project as I made the top in a simple shell pattern and did a plain double-crochet bottom with a bit of gathering above the waistline. I ended the dress with the shell pattern. You can also make the top in a bishop style (so a shorter top) with gathering right below your bustline. Play around with this pattern and you will be surprised how easy it is to adjust it to suit your size.

Almost all my clothing patterns are made to fit any body size or type.

I used: 10 balls Rosi acrylic/polyester in worsted weight yarn - 100g balls (approx. 2000 yds)
