Crochet Checker Bucket Hat, unisex, easy crochet pattern

I totally enjoy making hats on a whole and bucket hats just bring a whole other excitement and having to use more than one colour is a plus. I made this hat wide to protect my face from the sun. I noted where you can stop decreasing if you don’t want to go as wide.

Shown above is a bucket hat in 3 colours and one in 2 colours. You can make hats in more colours if you choose. Just stick to a multiple of 2 for the checkered design, e.g. 2, 4 or 6.

I used:
Approx. 100 g of each colour / 100 yds / 91 m
Hat 1: #4 worsted weight acrylic yarn in the 3 colours, beige for crown and, brown and burnt orange for checkered pattern
Hat 2: #4 worsted weight acrylic yarn in 2 colours, bright pink and bright yellow
(note: you can use any colour combo you like)

Crochet Hook: 5.50mm - I / 9
