A crochet pattern for a Granny Square Clutch Bag from Nancy Brown-Designer. A retro accessory that is so up-to-date.

Start with six granny square motifs that are joined to form a ring. Crochet around the top of the ring for a few rounds and then create an opening for the handles. Crochet around the bottom of the ring and continue the bottom of the bag in a granny stitch pattern. Crochet a base and attach it to the bag. Attach a crochet button and your granny Square Clutch Bag is complete.

Size: Approximately 22" around (measured below the granny squares) and approximately 8" in depth.

Materials: Yarn: The bag shown in the photographs is crocheted in Basic Stitch Premium (a worsted weight or size 4 yarn) from Lion Brand Yarns. Since gauge is not crucial for this project, you can use almost any worsted weight or size 4 yarn. About 400 yards of main color and small amounts of three contrast colors will be needed.
