Johnny Bear the Ami - Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

The amigurumi is fast and easy to make and will make any children happy.

The bear requires minimal sewing. It is crocheted in one piece starting from the feet up to the head. Only ears, muzzle, tail and eyes are sewed on.

The pair of pants are removable.

Difficulty Level: intermediate for construction of the bear

Skills required are sl st, sc, hdc, tr, BLO sc, increase/decrease sts, change color.

Finished Size: if done with cotton fingering-weight yarn (4 ply), 2.5mm hook, it is 26cm (10.1”) high and 10cm (3.9”) wide w/o arms. This may vary depending on the yarn and hook size you decide to use.

Cotton Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi). Usage based on 1 Ball = 50g/1.75oz - 155m/170y.

Bear: approx 62g (2.2oz) linen
Eyes and nose: small quantity of brown, black and white
Pants: approx 15g (0.5oz) jade and small quantity of light green and blue
Fish: small quantity of orange, yellow and dark blue
Mesh bag: approx 6g (0.2oz) gray
A piece of felt
Two buttons
Fiberfill
2.5mm crochet hook (US B/1 – C/2)
