The pattern is written in English, using American crochet terminology and includes US/UK conversion charts for both stitches and hook sizes.
It is full of hints, tips and photos that help you along the way.
For beginners instructions of basic crochet stitches are provided.

Difficulty Level: advanced beginner
Skills required are sl st, sc, hdc, change color and increase/decrease sts.

Finished Size: if done with cotton fingering-weight yarn (4 ply) in the selected colours for all items, 2.5mm hook, it is 5cm (2.0”) high w/o tentacles and 10cm (3.9”) wide.
This may vary depending on the yarn and hook size you decide to use.

Cotton Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi). Usage based on 1 Ball = 50g/1.75oz - 155m/170y.
Body: approx 10g (0.4oz) cream
Shell: small quantity of yarn in the colors you like
Mouth: small quantity of black (or red)
5mm safety plastic eyes
Fiberfill and stitch markers
2.5mm crochet hook (US B/1 – C/2)
