Triangle shawl crochet pattern "Feathery"

This crochet pattern for a lace shawl is called "Feathery", because it will result in a lightweight wrap that is light as a feather. It is an easy shawl pattern that requires knowledge of basic crochet stitches and is suitable for advanced beginners. An easy to memorize pattern repeat makes this a relaxing piece to work on. It is a written pattern and also includes a chart.

The shoulder wrap shown in the pictures was made out of Juniper Moon Farm Findley, which is a lace weight yarn (half silk and half merino wool). You need not use a lace weight though, other yarn weights will work as well. Whatever you decide to use, it will be an elegant accessory that can be worn as a triangle scarf or a crochet wrap to warm your shoulders.

The pattern has been tested by several people who used a variety of yarns from lace weight up to DK weight. All of them showed good results.

Worked in lace weight yarn, this shawl is light as a feather. This is an easy pattern that only requires knowledge of basic crochet stitches.

Although written for the use of lace weight yarn, it can be crocheted in any other yarn as well. Gauge is not important, and you can work the shawl to any desired size. Heavier yarns will reinforce the somewhat wavy impression of the upper edge.

The pattern is written using American crochet terms and includes a chart for the stitch pattern.

Difficulty level: easy

Yarn: Juniper Moon Farm Findley (50% silk, 50% merino; 730m/100g; 798yds/3.53oz), 1 ball. Sample in a size of 140 x 45cm (56 x 18in) used 678m (742yds).

Hook: 2.5mm/US C (There is no US equivalent to 2.5mm, it is the size between B and C. Just pick the size that you feel more comfortable with.)

Notions: yarn needle

Gauge: 36 stitches/16 rows in pattern = 10cm/4in. Gauge is not important at all.

Size: can be worked to any size
