"Have a Seat Please" - a knitting pattern for a triangle shawl that uses exactly one ball of fingering weight sock yarn. It is an easy pattern that is suitable for shawl beginners (not knitting beginners), very relaxing to knit while you watch your favorite show on TV or have your hubby talk to you without a break - guess how I know. There is literally nothing to fear about this pattern. Knits and purls and some easy decreases and yarn overs, that's it.

Made out of fingering yarn, the shawl will be a lightweight and feminine accessory that can be worn on cool evenings outside or to protect yourself from air conditioning. Use a more spectacular color if you intend to wear it at festive occasions.

The sample shown in the pictures was made out of Lana Grossa Meilenweit Plus Colorado, a variegated fingering sock yarn, nothing fancy. I guess similar yarns are available all around the world. The pattern has been tested by a wide range of people who used a variety of yarns from light fingering to sport weight. All of them showed good results.

Due to the triangle shape of the shawl the pattern will allow you to make it a larger shawl as well - which will of course require more yarn than stated in the pattern.

Sit down and relax, here comes the no effort shawl. Designed for 1 ball of sock yarn, this triangular shawl won’t do you harm. It is worked top down, starting with a garter tab and increasing in every second row. The pattern gains interest through texture and eyelets, both of which are easy to do.

Difficulty level: advanced beginner (knit, purl, eyelets)

Yarn: Lana Grossa Meilenweit Plus Colorado (80% wool, 20% nylon; 420m/100g; 459yds/3.53oz); 1 ball. Sample used 390m (427yds).

Needles: 4mm/US 6 circular needles

Notions: yarn needle, 1 stitch marker (optional)

Gauge: 18 stitches/32 rows in stockinette stitch = 10cm/4in.

Size: 150 x 50cm (60 x 20in)
