Summer scarf knitting pattern "Boho in Soho" combining knitting and crochet

It’s a pun, that’s all. And a cool cotton scarf.

Boho in Soho is a bicraftual pattern. While the main part is knitted lengthwise in a textured drop stitch pattern, the ends with the fringes are crocheted. It is possible to leave off the crocheted parts, this will give you a nice drop stitch scarf in a reasonable length. But the crocheted ends without the scarf in between don’t make much sense.

The crochet parts are written using American crochet terms.

Difficulty level: intermediate (dropped stitches, increases, decreases, basic crochet stitches)

• k: knit
• p: purl
• sl: slip
• di: double increase (knit, yarn over, knit, all in the same stitch)
• s2kp: slip 2 stitches together as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitches over
• yo: yarn over
• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet

Gauge: 12 stitches/30 rows in pattern = 10cm/4in.

Total length is 195cm (78in) including the fringes, the knitted part is 140cm (56in) long and 14cm (5 3/4in) wide.

Yarn: Anchor Style Magicline (100% cotton; 69m/50g; 76yds/7.76oz); 3 balls. Sample used exactly 3 balls, 2 for the knitted part and 1 for the crocheted parts.

Needles: 5mm/US 8 circular needles plus a hook in size 6mm (J).
