Brioche shawl knitting pattern, rectangle stole in tuck stitch "Alize Wrap"

"Alize Wrap" - a knitting pattern for a smooth and soft shawl made out of a cotton blend yarn. It is worked mostly in tuck stitch which is an easier way to knit brioche (photo tutorial included) with garter ribs in between to make the overall impression less monotonous.
In brioche you basically knit each sttich twice. It takes some time but makes for a very soft fabric that is especially comfortable to wear. 'The stitch pattern is completely reversible, both sides look good. This is a very relaxing knit, suitable for adventurous beginners who have mastered knits and purls already and want to expand their skills.
The sample shown in the pictures was made out of Alize Cotton Gold Batik, a sport weight cotton/acrylic blend yarn that is known for its beautiful colors. Any gradient yarn in a similar weight with long color changes will work for the pattern. If you prefer to knit a warmer shawl, use something woolly. You can of course use a solid color as well.
The shape of the shawl is a large rectangle, it can be worked to any desired length.

Inspired by this beautiful yarn, I was looking for somethng easy and effective to showcase the colors. The Alize Wrap is a completely reversible rectangle wrap in an easy brioche pattern that makes a very soft and smooth fabric.

Work it in a length to warm your shoulders, or knit it longer for a very wide scarf.

Difficulty level: easy (the brioche stitch is shown in a photo tutorial)

Yarn: Alize Cotton Gold Batik Design (55% cotton, 45% acrylic; 329m/100g; 360yds/3.53oz), 2-3 balls. Sample in a length of 120cm (48in) used 622m (680yds).

Needles: 3.5mm/US 4

Notions: yarn needle, 4 stitch markers (optional)

Gauge: 22 stitches/40 rows in garter stitch = 10cm/4in.

Size: 33cm (13 1/4in) in width, can be worked to any length
