Doubleknit scarf knitting pattern "Turnery"

On one of my walks I came across this old farmhouse that had a beautiful carved entrance. Knitters’ minds sometimes work in strange ways, the door looked like a cabled knitting pattern. My first idea was: I must knit this! It finally turned out to become a double knitted scarf, highly stylized and transferred to colorwork.

The scarf is worked in double knitting, using aran weight yarn. A short introduction to double knitting is included in the pattern. If you have never used the technique before, you may find it helpful to watch some tutorials.
There are no written instructions, you need to know how to read charts.

Difficulty level: Intermediate (double knitting, working from charts)

Yarn: Filana Super Merino (100% merino wool, 84m/50g; 93yds/1.76oz), 5 balls of each color. Sample with 8 pattern repeats in a length of 180cm (72in) used 349m (381yds) of each color.

Needles: 5mm/US 8

Notions: yarn needle

Gauge: 17 stitches/19 rows = 10cm/4in

Size: 22cm (8 3/4in) wide. The length is up to you.
