Knitting Pattern for small gift bag in stranded colorwork "Lucky Coin Bag"

Produktbeschreibung

This knitting pattern for a small drawstring bag with hearts is called "Lucky Coin Bag". It is a pattern to use some of your sock yarn scraps, worked in stranded colorwork that is easy enough to do if you've got some experience with stranded knitting already. I wouldn't recommend it to knitting beginners.

A charming gift idea that you can use as a coin purse, small gift pouch or dice bag. If you've got something to gift for Valentine's Day, this would make an awsome gift wrapper.

The sample shown in the pictures was made out of two no name fingering scck yarn leftovers. Heavier yarns will work as well, as long as you don't use a bulky. Just be aware that using another yarn weight will have influence on the finished size of your bag - which actually may be wanted if you want to use it for larger objects.

If you purchase the pattern, start knitting and (which I don't hope) get to a point where you don't know how to go on, my contact info is in the pattern. I am always happy to help. Please bear in mind that I sometimes need to sleep and don't spend all day on the internet. But I check my mails every day.

Please read below for more pattern details.

See a penny, pick it up – and all day, you’ll have good luck!

Maybe you consider finding a coin good luck, or maybe not. However that may be, there is nothing wrong with picking it up. Maybe you will turn rich. Even better if you have a little purse to collect your coins.

This one is quickly done, worked in the round on DPNs. The little hearts are worked in stranded colorwork. If you have never done that before, this may be the right project to try it out. You should know how to read charts though. A description how to make your own ribbon is included in the pattern.

Difficulty level: Intermediate (knitting in the round on DPNs, stranded colorwork, working from charts, decreases)

Yarn: Vendita sock yarn (75% wool, 25 % nylon, 210m/50g; 230yds/1.76oz), 1 ball of each color. Sample used 55m (60yds) of color 1 in red and 38m (41yds) of color 2 in gray. Any other yarn weight can be used as well, the size will be different.

Needles: 2.5mm (US 1 1/2) set of 5 DPNs

Notions: yarn needle, a ribbon to thread through (optional, if you don’t want to make your own).

Gauge: 26 sts/46 rows in stranded stockinette = 10cm/4in. Gauge is not very important, this is nothing that needs to fit you.

Size: 24cm (9 1/2in) in circumference, 16cm (6 1/2in) in length
