Summer scarf knitting pattern "In a Mellow Mood" in aran weight yarn

Summertime, the season of longing to catch the sun and evenings that never end. Whether you spend them in the garden, at the beach, with a barbecue or in the pub garden, an airy scarf will always make you look well dressed.

The scarf is worked in an easy to memorize eyelets pattern – more holes than anything else. It knits up quickly in an aran weight cotton yarn, but can be worked in any other yarn as well. Hints on how to make it a narrower scarf or a wider stole are in the pattern.

Difficulty level: easy (increases, decreases)

Gauge: 16 stitches/20 rows in eyelets pattern = 10cm/4in.

• s2kp: slip 2 stitches together as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitches over
• kfb: knit into front and back of the stitch
