Deliberate changes to the pattern: I had a large custom cake (1750 yards/4 ply) and wanted to make sure to use all of the colors. So, I did an extra row of the small crocodile stitches. The last 5 feathers on mine were 2 rows instead of 1 like the pattern said. I wanted to make sure I used enough of the light pink to white transition in my custom yarn cake, so it is a bit longer than the pattern says. For the feather outlines, I went up 25 rows, then followed the decreases like the pattern said.
