Still looking for a gift for your mom? This shopping net is nice and roomy and can be crocheted in a wonderfully relaxing way, because the filet pattern is very simple and grows quickly. In summer, the net also works great as a beach bag.
For this net, you need cotton yarn in light pink and bright pink (yardage 125 m/50 g, about 3 balls per color) and a 2.0 mm crochet hook.

Have you always wanted to try Tunisian crochet?

This market bag is crocheted in Tunisian simple stitch and is very easy, because you only need to crochet a rectangle. The shape is then created by folding it origami-style. The pattern describes exactly how to work the Tunisian simple stitch. You’re guaranteed to pick it up quickly, even as a beginner!

Tunisian crochet is sturdier than conventional crochet and therefore doesn’t stretch out as easily. That’s why this technique is ideal for bags and totes.

For the yarn, I chose a cotton yarn with a gentle color gradient here (Pinta by Junghans Wolle). This way, you don’t have to pay attention to any color changes or complicated patterns.

You will also need:

• Textile yarn, hook size 7 - 8, Bobbiny cotton cord, 5 mm, yardage 100 m in the colors white and dark gray (1 skein each) and mint green (2 skeins)

My net measures 30 cm x 39 cm (unstretched and without the handle). I used Drops Safran cotton yarn (160 m/50 g) and a size 2.5 crochet hook. The handle can be made shorter as needed—just skip the corresponding rows.
