Have a great start to the week, everyone!
We’re having typical April weather here—sometimes it rains, sometimes the sun shines; it’s stormy, but not all that cold. I’ve got a bit of a cold and I’m coughing constantly. I’m still at work right now; this afternoon I have my philosophy group, and tomorrow I have knitting in the afternoon and school—that’s how the week is going. Right now I’m working on a lace scarf (an old UFO) and a pair of socks. I’m starting a new project tomorrow in the knitting group, since my current projects are so boring.
For lunch, I’ll probably have a sandwich, since I don’t have much of a break between my appointments. In the evening, I’ll cook a proper meal again—my son will be home then and he’ll be hungry.
Have a great day, everyone!

Hi,

I’ve had a good start to the week, except for the onset of a cold.
The weather is nice—no rain at the moment, the sun is shining now and then, and it’s
not quite as cold.
I’m still at work until 3:30 p.m. Then I’ll go pick up my younger daughter and
head home. My older daughter gets out of school at 4:00 p.m.
Today we want to bake some cookies.

As for my crafts, I’m working on the Christmas gifts.
I’m running out of time.
Since I have a bit of a cold, I’d love to just lie down, but unfortunately that’s not possible.

Best regards, Heike

I just dropped my husband off at the airport. He’s on a business trip until Thursday. ...
It’s typical April weather here, too. I’ve made myself a pot of tea for now.
Actually, I wanted to prep lunch for Anton. But I don’t really feel like it.

I haven’t found any nice Christmas tree ornaments either. I’m running late, too.

Anton is cranky, and I don’t really feel like crocheting either. Somehow, today just isn’t my day.

Weather-wise, it’s rainy and windy.
For lunch, I had spirelli pasta with carrots.

I’m trying to list my cable scarf again soon in a lighter color.
After that, I’ll continue with the spring scarf.

As for Christmas decorations, I only have my Advent arrangement.

Today the carpenter installed the new wall cabinets in the kitchen. I’m so happy! Even though it’s just the “top half” that’s new for now, it looks great and I have so much more space. The rest will follow early next year, because his schedule is fully booked through the end of this year, and since we have almost nothing but drawers on the bottom, it’s a bit more involved.
I won’t get any knitting done today—I just finished washing out most of the cabinets and started putting things away, so now I’m exhausted and don’t want to do anything else.

The weather has been and still is dreadful, but we still went to a few smaller Christmas markets over the weekend. There I bought hand-dyed sock yarn, and we also ate some delicious things there... for example kale stew, potato waffles with herb dip, and sour cream cake with mandarins...

Yesterday we went out for Italian food with dear neighbors; we wanted to thank them for lovingly taking care of our plants while we were on vacation, and it was a relaxing evening.

I’m almost done with the Christmas gifts; the first packages are even already wrapped. Only the gift for my sweetheart—I’m still missing an idea for that... actually, everything is going quite calmly.

By the way, the tree was what kept me busy over the last few days. Now it just needs to tell me what color it would like...

I have to check in again with an update so you don’t think I’ve forgotten about you. My husband is currently in the ICU. He collapsed a few days ago and was already clinically dead, but they were able to revive him. Today was the critical day when they took him off the ventilator to see if he could make it on his own. He’s alive and breathing for dear life, and the doctor is calling it a miracle. A huge weight was lifted off my shoulders today. There may still be complications, but I hope the worst is behind us now. We’ll be celebrating Christmas in the hospital this year, and the fact that he’s alive is the best Christmas gift of all.

I’d like to thank you all once again from the bottom of my heart for your kind wishes. Unfortunately, he passed away during the night leading into Friday. I’m incredibly sad.
