Crochet Sweater

Hi, I'm still relatively new to crocheting, and this is my first time making a crochet sweater. I'm having trouble with the sleeves—I always end up with a bit too much volume where the back meets the sleeve. It always turns out a little too bulky there. What am I doing wrong?

If you’re still a beginner, you should buy a pattern for your first crochet sweater or look for a free pattern and follow it. That way, you’ll learn a lot of the basics of making sweaters and will be able to crochet your own designs much more easily.

Too much volume at the transition between the back and the sleeve?
Maybe too many stitches per round?
But really, without a proper pattern, you won’t get very far as a beginner, especially with a sweater.
Starting out with a sweater as a beginner is tough too.
I think it’s great that you’ve gotten this far at all :)
