Wooly Wednesday: Who’s bought some yarn? Leftover yarn, yarn diet, and yarn stash update + yarn wish list

Today is Wooly Wednesday.
So I’d love to know—has anyone bought any yarn?
How are your leftover yarn and stash holding up?
Have you put together your yarn wish list for Christmas yet?

I’m super stocked up on yarn—I just spent today tidying up and sorting through it. I could easily get by on this for at least two years.

So I’m still on a “yarn diet” — since October — and I’m happy that the yarn in my closets has some breathing room again. ;-)

I’ve also been on a yarn diet since October. I’m setting small goals for myself and plan to stick to them for half a year.

I’m still working through my stash at the moment. In September I went on a big shopping spree (1.8 kg) and set myself the goal of not shopping again until I’ve used up that amount. So it doesn’t matter whether it’s from my old stash (what feels like 100 kg) or from the new yarn. I still have 600 grams to go before I’m allowed to shop again. 

So I’ve been on a yarn diet since mid-September. 

I crocheted a few chocolates from my leftovers, finished a little mouse, and made a Christmas window decoration. 

I only bought the sample yarn for the coat.
Yesterday, my daughter and I were standing at the bus stop, which is right next to the yarn shop. I was tempted to go in because we still had 20 minutes to spare, but my daughter was panicking that we’d miss the bus. She said, “Mom, you always lose track of time in there!” So, with a heavy heart, I decided against it and just gazed longingly at the yarn through the store window....

I didn’t buy anything, but my order arrived :)

I’m still working through my yarn stash.
It’s slowly but steadily shrinking.

I’ll be using quite a bit more for my Christmas projects.

I bought a looooot of yarn this month... and tomorrow I’ll be adding at least one yarn cake, because my yarn shop is having a “Yarn Cakes and Punch” event with 15% off yarn cakes. I’ve got to snap one up.

So, how’s it going?

I’ve bought two different skeins of yarn in the meantime to test the gauge for my coat. Unfortunately, neither of them worked out, so now they’re just expensive leftover skeins....
But on Saturday I’m going to another store that’s having a clearance sale—maybe I’ll find something suitable there. 

In two weeks, in mid-December, a whole year will have gone by.

Let’s see how much longer I can hold out. In any case, I’ll only buy something then if I run out of a specific color—and not a huge amount.

Would you mind telling me the exact date?

Hi everyone,
I actually have plenty of yarn… in lots and lots of colors… yarn cakes, cotton, etc.

But then I decided to crochet a blanket for my son, who’s a big fan of a certain rapper… I edited the picture with an app… and that meant I bought some more yarn too… it just had to be. Because if I’m going to put in the effort, the result should be great and my son should love it ;-)
