Problem with “Die kleine Diana Häkellust” 6/2015

Hey everyone!
A friend sent me the Buttinette newsletter. It features a white crochet sweater from the magazine *Die kleine Diana – Häkellust – Endlich Sommer!*. I fell in love with it right away :D
Unfortunately, I don’t quite understand the crochet chart. In Row 1, which is supposed to consist only of chain stitches, single crochet, and slip stitches, I don’t understand what comes first or where each stitch goes. There are arrows indicated, but no matter how I tried, I couldn’t continue crocheting the row. My last stitch always ended up at a point where the pattern didn’t continue. The next rows shouldn’t be a problem.

Does anyone here have the magazine and could help me figure this out??
