Hello
I always follow patterns, whether I’m crocheting or knitting. That usually works out pretty well. But now I have a crochet pattern for a banana where I’m having a bit of trouble.
On the 10th round of the banana, it says: Round 10: inc., 6 sc, crochet 2 sts together, crochet 2 sts together, 6 sc, inc.?? Can someone tell me what this means? I don’t understand it.
Could you also type out Round 9 so we know how many stitches are left after Round 9?
And the “verd.”: is there a list of abbreviations? (If it’s from a book or magazine, maybe there’s one at the beginning or end of the magazine/book.) Usually, stitches and abbreviations are listed somewhere so you know what they mean!
Best regards,
Karin
Thanks first of all for your reply. Here is Round 9. Rounds 6–9 are single crochets, 18 stitches in total. Then Round 10 is as described above; “verd.” means “increase”, and after that round there are also 18 stitches.
Hi Brigitte,
ok, now I get it.
You start the 10th round by crocheting 2 sc in 1 st (that’s an increase), then 6 sc, and then 2 sc together (to do this, insert the hook into the next stitch, pick up the yarn, insert the hook into the next stitch, pick up the yarn, then pick up the yarn again and pull it through all the loops on the hook).
Then 2 sc in 1 stitch again, 6 sc, and 2 sc in 1 stitch.
is anyone familiar with crochet charts? I bought a crochet pattern for a hobby horse, and from round 3 on it suddenly says this. At the end of the second round I have a total of 20 sc
2. 4 sc, inc 3 sc, 4 sc, inc 3 sc (20)
3. 4 sc (1 sc, increase once)x3 4 sc (1 sc, increase once)x3 (26) 4. 4 sc (2 sc, increase once)x3 4 sc (2 sc, increase once)x3 (32) I don’t understand how I’m supposed to crochet this. I hope someone can help me Thanks in advance. Best, Tina
I have a crochet pattern with the following sequence
inc, 9 sc, 3 sc in 1 sc, 10 sc
how should I understand this? Before that I have 11 ch + 1 turning ch.
I’m looking forward to your replies
