Check out what I just found
while browsing the internet—I really wanted to share this with you : )
The article says it works just as well with crocheting or crafts.
Does anyone here have any real-life experience with this? Well, for me, I generally don’t eat while crocheting because otherwise my crochet project might end up covered in food scraps.
I think I’ll have to try this out again to see if it helps the next time I really crave chocolate. : )
But just imagine—you could do a kind of DIY diet this way. If it really does curb cravings and burn calories on top of that, then it’s almost better than any exercise program : )

That knitting and crocheting are fun is nothing new, but that knitting and crocheting actually feed the areas of the brain responsible for cravings is somehow hard to believe. I’ll try it the next time I feel like having this.
Snacking and then knitting or crocheting, and then snacking again afterward, is much nicer. Snacking while knitting or crocheting, on the other hand, leads to chocolate stains on your handmade project, and nobody wants that.
Sunny greetings
Sidney

I generally eat less when I’m doing a lot of needlework, since I’m focused the whole time.
I even set an alarm on my phone to remind me when I need to cook :D
I just really enjoy it and usually get completely absorbed in what I’m doing. And often I get lost in my thoughts. However, I also end up not drinking enough...

Thanks for your responses on the topic of cravings.
Somehow I would’ve thought this topic would naturally interest more people here, but apparently there aren’t that many people here who have cravings for sweets. ; ) Or maybe people just don’t want to say anything because they’d rather enjoy their chocolate.
Or their gummy bears, or chips, or whatever else they like to snack on. Oh well. At least now you know how it goes and all that, and maybe you can still make use of it somehow. It’s always nice when you’ve heard about things like this and then maybe later on, you can actually benefit from them in some way.

Yeah :-) I think there’s some truth to the idea that “crafting curbs cravings.” When you’re focused on an activity, you don’t feel much need for distractions or food.

I always say: just this row... Just this row... And boom, another half hour has flown by ;)
