Dear users, dear authors,
what are you working on right now? Have you been hard at work today?
Where are the little helpers?
@ChristinaE.,
I wanted to congratulate you on being a little helper for the past few weeks. You mentioned it in the relevant thread. Congratulations. :-)
@all the other Heinzelmännchen, including the hardworking Marion,
how are things going with you?
Are you doing well? Are you making progress?
I started a new project yesterday—a summer sweater.
I hope I can finish it before the summer holidays.
Thanks to the Heinzelmännchen project, I’m super motivated :)
I crocheted two rows today before work and during my break.
I’ll continue tonight.
I’m worried my yarn won’t be enough.
If not, I’ll have to search through my stash for a matching yarn
that goes well with it in both color and material.
I won’t be buying anything—I’m adamant about that.
Well, for one thing, I’m working on a second color sample for an existing pattern that I’d like to spruce up a bit.
For another, I’ve been thinking ever since this morning that I could make something for myself again. A lady was sitting in front of me on the bus wearing such a beautiful poncho… I can’t get it out of my head.
The only thing that's decided so far is the colors.
I've already planned lots of patterns and versions.
But I still have no idea whether it should be a shawl, a cowl, a scarf, a table runner, or maybe a soul warmer after all :D
Later, though, I'll first work on my figure.
Over the past year the food was especially delicious, and I'd like to fit into my pants again :)
So off to the gym I go.
This morning, I started by crocheting some fiddly little parts—like feet and arms—for a mini soccer player, then I began working on a handkerchief pouch as a birthday gift and crocheted 15 rounds of 66 single crochets each. Now I want to cast on the stitches for a pair of hiking socks so I’ll have a suitable project for tomorrow’s train ride. Since I’m traveling with at least one colleague, it can’t be anything complicated that requires too much attention.
We’ve been on vacation since Saturday. And I haven’t crocheted since Saturday. We were staying in hotels. And there, you have to keep a closer eye on Anton, or rather, even when he was asleep, I couldn’t crochet in the room.
Now we’re in a vacation rental. Anton is sleeping in his room, and we’re watching TV while I crochet. But I haven’t gotten much done yet. I’m trying to crochet a tablecloth with this thin, annoying yarn. Unfortunately, Anton is really into yarn and grabbed right into it, so now it’s not a ball of yarn anymore but a total mess. .... grumble
I finished hearts #10–13 yesterday. I still need two more for my daughter’s party. I’ll get to those today.
The leftover yarn is dwindling nicely, too. The boxes aren’t overflowing anymore, and when you look for something in there, you can actually find it.....
My little daughter is getting her new room this weekend, and there are still
flamingos to crochet. I guess I’ll be crocheting on two tracks then. On the one hand
my vest, and then the flamingos.
Sure, as soon as they’re done, I’ll post a photo for “Reste-Beste” too.
The pattern is by Cute_As_A_Button. There are 3 hearts in 3 sizes. I’ll crochet a loop onto the largest heart and then sew them together in order of size. They’ll be keychains for the friends who are coming over.
My little one gets to pick the colors. So half of them are mostly blue, and the others are more orange, red, and pink.
Oh, I know that juggling act too. Since I still have to finish the cushion cover for her birthday and she doesn’t know anything about it, I crochet the hearts during the day and work on the cushion at night while she’s asleep.
But it’ll be fine—I still have 1.5 weeks until her party.
@Pe-Ka: Oh, I know that too. Crocheting, but in a way that the kids don't see it.
My daughter's birthday is at the end of August. The invitations will include smiley bookmarks
and as party favors, the girls will get a unicorn keychain and the boys
a monster keychain.
Oh, I just realized that I still have to crochet all of that too. And then another
unicorn for my niece.
OMG - please give me time and lots of hands......
Since the Bobbel for the Lavender shawl/scarf had a color flaw right near the end, I’m finally crocheting it again now (and hoping the Bobbel ends more nicely this time ;-) )
If summer stays like this, I might even be able to take some nice photos again ...
I scrapped my sweater idea—nothing really appealed to me—but
today I did a yarn swap with a “neighbor” (just around the corner) and ended up with 4 yarn cakes. I’m going to use them to make a little blanket. I’ve already knitted 12 rows with 136 stitches in a mesh pattern tonight.
Let’s see how big the blanket ends up being.....
